Most BC residents are enrolled in the BC provincial health insurance and the government reimburses with a fee-for-service model. Everyone has access to the same level of care and the process of billing is simpler since it is a single payer. In late 2022 a substantial hike to physician compensation was announced by the governance making it one of the more attractive places to work in Canada.
